Look for your blessings and then count them!

Happy Monday!

Here in the town that I live in, it's a beautiful sunny morning.  There are wonderous things happening all around me in nature, and I appreciate every sight, smell, and sound.  If you can see the glory in watching the trees sway slowly in the wind when there is no breeze in the air, you are watching a blessing from God. The person jogging down your street each morning, listening to their i-pod and glistening sweat is a blessing from God.

Most of the time we look for God's blessings to be of a material or financial kind.  We are so busy working hard to get the latest "thing" that we don't even take the time to be thankful for having the opportunity to work for it....that is the real blessing from God.  Being able to share something wonderful with another human being, whether it be financial, spiritual, emotional, or otherwise- the blessing is in the sharing.

We also expect God's blessings to just fall in our laps sometimes.  The chances of this happening ALL the time are slim to none.  Now let's look at this from a different perspective.  Say that you DID want to be blessed with a car, and if fell into your lap--chances are you wouldn't be able to drive it right away....the blessing would then become sort of a curse, even if it is only temporary because somehow later, you regained the use of your legs.  Is it not much better to GO and SEARCH for the car you want, and once you find it, you can do what you need to do to obtain it, and drive it away?  I like this idea much better too....

So my message today is to consider, putting in work, and searching for your blessings instead of waiting on them to come to you.  Blessings are all around us, floating right by us-  we just have to seek the ones we need and put in work to get them.  There is reward in the search afterall too.  The appreciation for the thing you yearn for is much more prevalent when you go out in search of it- the work helps you to develop a deeper connection to it...and to God, who helped to see you through the work...the blessing becomes much sweeter!

Positivity Is Contagious....

I love being a positive influence on others!  It makes you feel so good when someone comes to you and says, "Hey!  You made a great impact on me when you did....and because of you I am now doing...Thanks!"  If you've ever heard the saying, "You become like the five people that you spend the most time with", then chances are you agree with the statement.  Before I was the happy go lucky blogger whose desire is to bring a little sunshine to your day, I was the pessimistic "is this all I will ever amount to in life" person.

I used to wonder why nobody wanted to be around me, and now I am glad to know that there are people who want to be like me.  I am possessed with the full belief that it is because I changed my perception of my own life.  I made the decision to be a happy and motivated person.  While my decision was an internal one, the external results have been so tremendous.

People now look forward to seeing me, to being in my space.  They ask me what they need to do to get some of the joy they see in me.  They want to do what I am doing. They want to stick with being positive energy because they see that I try to stick with it, even when the going gets tough.  Being positive has brought me plenty of surface opportunities that I appreciate.  But the one that I appreciate the most is the opportunity to spread positivity to others and watch them strive to pass that positivity on to someone else.  It simply makes my life more worth living.  I know for sure that the line in the peom is true, "That when you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same!"

My commitment to myself....

A friend and I have been having an ongoing conversation about stress and unwanted baggage.  We've been talking about why she can't seem to let go of all the stress and unwanted baggage that she has.  She is always asking me why I don't seemed to be as stressed as other people around us.  She asks me why is it that I seem to cope with things, even death, differently than most other people.

I tell her that I made a commitment to myself.  I made a commitment to just do my very best every day in every situation, if I can.  I am not always successful, as I am not a perfect being.  But I have learned to be aware of my feelings and I am committed to making a conscious effort to be sure that they are not misguided.  I spend a lot of time (as much as I can get) communicating with God, my higher source of power.  I am also trying really hard to respond in difficult situations with a calm, respectful, loving, and enlightened approach.

Instead of letting my angst get the best of me, I try to think of ways to beat it.  Practical ways that everyone can use.  For example, if I have a lot of things to take care of in a short period, I assess my tasks and delegate where I can.  Its much easier to follow up on the progress of some jobs than it is to try and do 100 of them simultaneously by myself.  If I am involved in a verbal conflict, sometimes I find it ends sooner, if I do the listening instead of all the talking.  Finally, no matter how I am feeling, I always steal a little alone time for myself to sit and let my mind relax and also to be thankful for all that I have and for having the chance to chisel away on the work in progress that is myself.

This commitment I made to myself is one of the first steps I took in looking at life and my place in it from a better perspective.  I am happy to renew my commitment with each passing day, knowing that it will help me to be a happier, better person this instant, than I was a second ago.

Develop This Mindset and You can Accomplish ANYTHING!

Not too long ago, I was the epitome of a pessimistic person. I always saw the glass as being half empty.  And things always went as I expected them to go, horribly!  I bought into a lot of other people's bad experiences as well.  I churned other people's problems over in my head, taking their issues and making them mine.  What did that get me?  You guessed it!  More bad feelings...about myself, other people, and the world.

Until one day, a really nice woman, a good friend, gave me a CD to listen to at a meeting.  She encouraged me and all the other people present at that meeting to listen to the CD, and to reflect on how it made us feel afterward.  I am not sure what the others who listened to the CD thought, but I was inspired!  I decided then and there that I was going to change my thinking, to see if it would help me to change my life!  It was hard at first, but practice makes perfect!  The CD was a part of the Success Magazine (isn't it awesome to be able to subscribe to a magazine and get a free CD each time with it?)!  The CD was called "Sales Success with Chris Wallace".  I know what you're thinking...."A sales CD? I'm not in sales!"  That's perfectly fine!  You don't have to be!  These 12 affirmations can lead you to the success you seek, regardless of what that is!  Commit to putting these in your memory bank and use them at every opportunity!  I am sure that a whole new world will be opened unto you, one that you will thoroughly enjoy!

1. I am always optimistic!
2. I have vision!
3. I always pursue personal growth!
4. I welcome competition's push!
5. I relentlessly pursue excellence!
6. I am on a quest for leadership!
7. I am leaving an awesome legacy!
8. I prioritize and execute!
9. I focus on building relationships!
10. I don't make excuses!
11. I understand that "good" is the enemy of "great"!
12. I dare to dream!

Let's Make Being Nice the way to be....AGAIN!

My sister and I were traveling to our local fitness club to work out.  We were making a right hand turn, but had to stop at the red light in front of us, as there was traffic zooming through the intersection during the mad evening dash home from work that so many Memphians participate in.  While we were sitting and waiting, another driver, a woman talking on her wireless phone decided that she was going to go around us and she almost hit us!  Instead of her apologizing to us for almost damaging our car, she instead yelled at us, calling us every obscene name that she could think of.  She was so busy yelling at us, that she ran  the red light that we were sitting at and almost hit another car.

I immediately pondered the question, "Why did the woman act that way toward us?"  We were following all the traffic rules and we were not being nasty towards her.  I thought to myself, maybe the woman was upset about something else and took it out on her.  Maybe she hadn't learned any manners growing up.  I was always raised to be polite to others and in my adult life I have been really focused on how I treat other people.  I try to go out of my way to be good to people and to help them out.  I thought, if the woman had simply honked and asked if we could let her by, then I would have happily obliged her and there would not have been an issue.

In contemporary society, where there is already so much negativity, it would be great to see more people be nice.  There are so many perks to having  a positive and pleasant attitude towards others.  Most people never get what they want in life because they don't want to ask for it.  Many young people that I have these pleasure of speaking with, say that being nice can get them accosted by their peers.  I am now asking the question, "When did it become taboo to show courtesy and respect towards another human being?"  When did we start allowing it to be okay for bullies to hurt people and get away with it?  At what point is it okay to spread rumors and lies about celebrities (without even considering how it will affect their children) for the sake of making a buck?

Even though, there are some who don't think that being nice will take you far in this life, I am a firm believer that it can take you very far.  After all, employers are not going to hire an unpleasant person.  Unpleasant people can be arrested if they are less than cordial to the police.  Being mean spirited can make you lose your friends and loved ones very quickly as well.  We have all seen it happen, and we wish that we didn't have to deal with unpleasant people, regardless of the circumstances.  I call upon all of you to help me to make being nice hot again!  By being nice to someone you don't know, you could very well change their perspective on life.  Our being nice to someone, just may give them the will to keep on living.  But we will never know unless we try.  With that being said, I am going to set out tomorrow, being even more passionate about being even nicer to people.  As I do so, I hope to inspire you to do the same thing.

Two Ears and One Mouth

A few days ago, I received a phone call from someone asking my opinion about something.  I was trying to share some information with the person, and made one statement, that they didn't fully understand.  Instead of allowing me to explain my statement, they immediately became agitated and kept getting cut off during our talk.  The person wanted to debate everything after that, and really wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise.  My initial response was to become upset and try to "keep the floor" by speaking louder and faster.  But then I remembered something that I learned a while ago that helped me to change my perspective in this particular situation.  I remembered that I had two ears and only one mouth.

Once I remembered that, I was able to calm myself down and listen to the other person's perspective. Granted, they gave me a perspective on what "they believed" to be true and then ended the conversation, believing that we had engaged in a fair exchange of knowledge (when I all I really said was hello)!  I went on about my merry way, thinking, how could I have made that conversation better.  What could I have done differently?

Well, I finally got my answer today!  That same person called me, and to my surprise, with an apology!  They said that they regretted they had not listened to me, as they were working on a project with another group for a college course.  The person stated that instead of disagreeing with me about the one statement that I made in our first conversation, they were quick to condemn me because my view wasn't their view.  They were thinking about the topic from an emotional standpoint, forgetting that in college coursework, a lot of time you have to have an objective point of view.  Another person in the course, whose project was about the same subject, did showcase a difference of opinion, but the student found scholarly articles to challenge the opposing point of view.  That person received a better grade than my friend, with a message from the instructor written on it in big red writing, "You have not supported your opinion with scholarly information, nor have you presented a difference of opinion, to show both sides of your argument!"

My friend was given the opportunity by the instructor to do the assignment again, in an effort to try and get a better grade.  This time, SHE was the one who had to remember that she has two ears and one mouth for a reason.  While we are all experts on some subjects, we still have to be respectful, and listen to other points of view regarding that subject.  If we drown out what our two ears are hearing because we have an uncontrollable urge to use our mouth, we can miss out on some major blessing and we may not always get the chance to have a "do over"!

The American Dream

Good afternoon readers,

I started this Saturday out as I usually have for the past few months, and that is by spending quality time with my daughter.  She's at that age now where she's learning how to drive, look for a part time job, and she's starting to think about what she wants her future to be like.  For some time now, I have been telling her that she can do anything that she wants to do in life, as long as she is not hurting herself or anyone else.  I also ask that she not break the law and to be a good person.

My sweet daughter does not know exactly what she wants to do as of yet, but she does have many great talents and character traits.  She's musically and artistically inclined, athletic, intelligent, sensible, and honest (sometimes brutally)!  She also wants to enjoy being a kid as long as she can.  She sometimes feel caught in a tight spot when she discusses her future with her dad's side of the family.  They are all accomplished in what I like to call "typical" high-yield occupations.  There's a risk manager, a doctor, and a few federal workers.  They try to convince her that the only way to be happy in this life is to play it safe.  Get a "good paying job" with "benefits" and conform to the standard of living that was once thought to be the way to get the American dream.

I teach her differently, because I see differently.  If my daughter's dream is to become a pop sensation, why is that wrong?  If she dreams of being the best high school janitor she can be, why is that wrong?  Who did the original idea for what many believe is the American dream come from?  Who's ever really described what it is supposed to be?

I went to college and earned a masters degree.  I thought that getting a great job with "benefits" was going to help me fulfill the whole in my heart where happiness was supposed to be.  I worked so hard to get those pieces of paper, and I even found a few good  jobs.  I still was not happy and feeling like I had found my true purpose in life.  I have sense come to believe that I can be successful and filled fulfilled, by sharing a positive attitude and outlook in the world by sharing good information, my skills, and my life in hopes that it will inspire someone else to be the best that they can be.  In my quest to do that, I will in turn receive the best things that are needed for me in my life abundantly.  I will do that by blogging, writing, and using video to practice and perfect my craft, hoping that the world will enjoy my gift to them.  That is my American dream.  And I hope ultimately my daughter and all of you decide that by giving the best of yourself to the world is the only way that you will get the best from it.

Love,

Kaye

Giving in Order to Receive

Most of the time when we think about our life, we think of it in terms of what we do not have.  We consider things such as not having enough money to buy certain things.  Next, we may consider that we don't have the time to make a commitment to giving of ourselves in one way or another.  Well, I have been using myself as a guinea pig for quite a while now with regards to giving.  I was in a very bad place mentally a few years back.  It seemed that I had the problems that I previously mentioned, I didn't have enough time to do anything, let alone any extra cash to buy anything or support a cause, regardless of how important it was.  I was introduced to a video, that talked about how the universe works and how we can make it work for us.

At first, I thought the information found on the video was just a bunch of hogwash.  So jokingly (but seriously at the same time), I asked the Universe to make it possible for me to give more....give more of my time and money to support worthy causes. And BOY did the universe respond!  It gave me all kinds of crazy time to lend myself to supporting charities (I did so much charitable work that I decided to start my own non profit organization)!  It also started sending a steady flow of extra cash my way, and of course I supported various charities and other notable causes.  It was very much an exhilarating and surprising experience.

But what was more surprising and inspiring was how the universe responded to my "giving"- I began to feel uplifted and joyous all the time.  I also began to receive "gifts" of great magnitude from the most unexpected people and at just the right time!  It excited me so much that I wanted to utilize all my skills, talents, and resources to keep on giving!  And the more I gave of myself to the world around me, the more the universe responded.  It responded with not just material resources but spiritual ones too.  I have a keener sense of discernment and loyalty.  I am more conscious about how I relate to others and how I make them feel.  I am more conscious about how I treat myself.  I thought it would be hard to change, but I realized that it wasn't hard to change my way of thinking, the hard part was keeping my changed mindset.  Even though I backslide here and there, it still makes me happy to know that in the morning, I have the chance to do it right again!  I take that chance seriously, and in return the Universe (or GOD as I so love to refer to it as) takes me seriously.

Why don't you try it today!?  You don't have to be rich or in a position of stature to give, and everyone doesn't need money.  Some people just need a smile, so that they have a reason to smile back.  Some people need a shoulder to cry on- some people may need some advice on something you know a lot about.  Some people just need a peson to sit quietly with.  Be on purpose about your giving to others, so that the universe can be on purpose about giving back to you!

Knowing Now

I am glad that I know Now!
All that life can offer- right now!
What can life offer me now?
The chance to live!
To go, to be, to do-
My dreams or my nightmares
I decide.
The chance to love or hate...
The chance to win or lose-
And take it in stride- or NOT!

Now is grabbing your hand--now!
Nudging you to take a step-
Make a move.
Now wants to cover you...
Make you invincible- or NOT!
Now is a promised lifetime partner,
For better or worse-
Now is telling you it needs a good partner
Just like you!

Knowing now- has helped me to become
A much better person-
Getting it done now, getting it over now
Taking this chance now, investing now
Loving now, forgiving now, changing my life now,
hearing now-
Has turned me into the perfect person
To share my love story with now-with you- now!

Making Your Greatest Mark on the World Comes by Being Yourself

For the past few years, I have been on a quest to find out what makes some people successful in this country we call the United States of America and why some people never find their reason for standing up and becoming the unique and individual beings that God intended us to be.  I have read many self help books on varying subjects relating to living a whole life and even did what most kids are raised to believe they should do:  Go to college and then look for a stable and secure position within a large, reputable company.

My studies have helped me to discover many truths and falsehoods about how one should go about develping themselves into the great people they wish to become.  Of all of the things that I discovered, it turns out that the constant thing that most people who develop sustained financial wealth, balance of life and work, a well-rounded family, and great spiritual connection with the higher source is that most of them are not afraid to dig inside themselves through prayer and meditation to find who they are truly supposed to be and what their purpose is.  These great people then act immediately upon those ideals that feel right to them at their core, and I've learned that with practice you can always get the result that you focus on!

In the beginning, I didn't believe this theory, so I started testing it.  I started out with small things, like knowing that "at this moment" I will drive 20 miles without being stopped by a red light.  In the beginning my belief worked for me for maybe 3 or 4 lights, then 5-8 lights, and before long, I was driving miles "knowing that at that moment" the lights would all be green for me--and you know what, they were!

There are a lot of very influential people whom have written books on the subject and I have read them.  I have also read some great biographies about influential people proceeding on with becoming who they are supposed to be, regardless of what anyone else thought of their decisions.  I intend to join their ranks.  I have been inspired by people from all walks of life who have made indeliable marks on the world to make my mark as well.  Lately, no one has inspired me more than the hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.  In his book, "Do You!" with Chris Morrow, Simmons shares the "12 laws that he uses to access the power within you to acheive happiness and success".

While the book is a very easy read and quite entertaining, the true message of the book is so crystal clear that it takes the stage in the lead role- and speaks to anyone and everyone about what they can do to lead their best life ever.  While everything worth having takes effort to get, reading this book helped me to rekindle the faith I once had in myself (which actually was wavering just a little while ago), and gave me the energy and the courage to press forward with being myself!  And I realized that if I love who I am and put the "best me" on display at every opportunity, while giving God the glory for my very existence, and finally giving to others in a way that enables them to be better and lifted up, then I am creating a great brand...one for God that will last till the end of time but will also be loved by many mere mortals residing here on earth!

So, if you are looking for a powerful read, then check the book out...and if I inspired you with this post, then get started right now on becoming who you are meant to be- you will find yourself being so happy that you took the leap!

Love,

Kaye Thompson

Are You an Effective Leader of Yourself?

It has taken me a minute to bring a new discussion to the table, as I wanted to fully analyze this question based on my own behaviors and habits.  I wanted to be able to discuss my own personal situation with you, as you pondered the following question:  Are you an effective leader?  Naturally, our initial response to this question is "What are you nuts?!  Of course I am an effective leader?!"  But if you really stop to think about the question, the answer that you come up with may surprise you!  The answer that I came up with for myself sure did surprise me!

Here are some things that I thought about when I lamented on this question for myself:
  • Do you consistently manage your time effectively?  When I asked myself this question, I thought, "Sure I do!  I manage my time very well!"  I am a great manager of my time, but sometimes as we all do, I get side tracked with some things and it's so hard to get back to certain tasks once you put them off.  In fact, I once gave myself 19 goals to complete in a month. I wrote the goals down and put them in my purse.  I remembered them about half way through the month, and when I pulled them out, I had only gotten to 3 of them!  As a result, I now post my goals up on the wall in my office, and I check off each goal as I complete them.  By reading the goals each day, I am reminded that I still have unfinished work.  Since I am serious about completing the goals, I read them daily and then I analyze how I have been using my time and what I can do to get another goal completed.  I look at previous to do lists, and I track the things that I have been doing, so I can see where my time is going.
  • Are you delegating menial tasks?  This is a big deal for some people!  You have those that will delegate everything, and then those that will not delegate one thing!  I am here to tell you, that the art of delegation was practiced in ancient history, thousands of years ago!  There is a method to delegating as well that if done correctly, will make the person who feels the worst about delegation appreciate it more!  The method is as follows:  The delegator works first, while the person being delegated to watches.  The delegator works again on the same task, while the person being delegated to helps.  Next, the person being delegated to works, while the delegator helps, and finally, the person being delegated to works while the delegator watches!  This is called on the job training, and even Jesus did it! By delegating those tasks that are menial, you free yourself up to take care of the big things that keep you up at night!  It's less stressful, when you shift the work that you really don't need to be doing onto someone else.  Once that low-end work is shifted elsewhere, you can then shift your focus to what's really important!  I was once a person who hated to delegate tasks, but when I realized how much time I had for other things I was amazed, and would never go back to trying to do everything myself!
  • What do you do when things don't go as planned?  If your plan doesn't go right, it doesn't necessarily mean that you abandon the plan!  What you should do is access the plan and tweak what didn't go right!  If your plan is a good one, then you should not give up on it, but work to improve it.  Ask yourself, "Why didn't the plan work?  What could have been different?  Do I need to change the materials?  Change my target market?  Spend more time connecting with others, etc?"
These questions, are ones that I think would serve any individual well whether they are leading others or just leading themselves.  If you put these items into action, you will definitely become a great leader for others, but most importantly, you will become a great leader of yourself!

Don't Let the Fear of Rejection Paralyze You!

Good Afternoon!

Today's message is one about the fear of rejection.  I was talking to a business colleague yesterday and she indicated to me that she is not able to do much in her business because she is afraid of being rejected.  In fact, my dear friend also admitted that she misses out on a lot of opportunities that come her way as a result of her fear of being rejected!  She decided to ask me how I got past the fear of being rejected when working my own business and here's what I told her:

In many businesses where one has to work to create an opportunity for growth or profit for themselves, there should be an expectation that someone will say no to your oppotunity.  Some people are just going to say no, for whatever their reasoning is.  Most of the time, other people are afraid to take a chance too! You have to help people see the value in the product or service that you are trying to provide for themselves.  You have to connect with them on a level that goes just a little bit deeper than the sale!  People do not want to be sold!  They want solutions to all of their problems and if you can make them see that your product or service is a solution to just one problem, then you have the chance to grow a very fulfilling relationship with that person!

Also, people pick up on your energy as well.  If you are not confident to offer the product or service you provide to someone as a valuable commodity, then you should work to understand why that is the case?  Have you tried the product or service for yourself?  If so, what benefits did you receive from it?  If not, then the question you have to ask yourself is "Why not?".  Also, have you done research on the product or service and compared it with its market competitors?  Can you answer most questions about the product or service honestly and accurately?  If the answer to that question for you is no, then you've got work to do!

I mean let's face it~ Would you want a doctor or studied a little bit about open heart surgery to work on you or would you rather have the doctor who specializes in this field?  Would you take a tax attorney to defend you in a criminal trial?  I would hope not!  We should also keep in mind that doctors and lawyers have to go out and drum up business too!  They do not get a list of customers who need their services after they pass the medical and bar exams!  If anyone going into business for himself as a doctor or lawyer and they are afraid to talk to other people about their services, they will not be successful!

So what did I do to overcome my fear of rejection:
  • I began to use my products faithfully so that I could build up my own belief in them (and boy do they work well)!  The more you believe that your product or service is great, others will too!
  • I also study and learn all that I can about my products and the competitors products so that I will be abreast of all trends, pricing, claims, etc. to be able to better market my own.
  • I also realize that a certain number of people are just not going to do business with me, and that is okay because for every person that doesn't see the value in what I have to offer, someone else will....so I just move on to find the latter!
  • I also just go out and talk to people!  You will never know who is interested in what if you don't take the initiative to meet someone new!  I like to think that when I am meeting a new person, I am adding them to my circle of influence!  Your business will not grow just by dealing with family and friends alone.  You have to be willing to talk to people you don't know!  I am a firm believer that if you do something that is outside of your comfort zone with positive intentions then the results of that work generally turn out to be positive as well!
  • I ask questions to find out what people need!  Asking questions is a great segway to telling them about your product or service!
  • I don't give up!  Always remember there is a natural law that says for every action there is a reaction.  Always remember to follow the Golden Rule, and you will soon get the results you most desire!
Don't let the fear of rejection paralyze you!  If you believe in yourself, then others will naturally begin to believe in you too.  Fear is really just false evidence appearing real, BUT if you believe it's real then it is. The monster of fear is only as big as you build him up to be in your mind and heart!  Faith and action are your weapons for destroying it!

If you're on purpose for doing great things, then great things will happen!

It's a great day to be alive and on purpose!  It is amazing how God works things out for you when you are on purpose for getting things done!   Being in business for yourself is very exciting, and it has been for me!  But you do have to have a plan, and you have to be willing to devote the same amount of time to building your business as you would to working for someone else!  We all must learn to work hard at the beginning so we can play hard later. . By intentionally setting aside time to get involved in spiritual activity, spending time with family and friends, working to make an income, feeding your brain with something positive, and then planning down time will make you happier beyond your wildest imagination!

Here's an idea for helping you to start designing the life of your dreams:
  • Take a sheet of paper and write down all of the goals that you have for your life!  Imagine where you want to live, how much money you want to make, what kind of car you want to drive, etc.  Remember to THINK BIG!
  • Think about when you want to have all of these things accomplished, and put a date on them
  • Next consider what it is going to take for you to make your dreams a reality (revenues, opportunities, etc.).  Also consider the obstacles you might face, and determine how you can overcome them.
  • Separate the goals into goals that you want to follow through with now and goals that you need to put off. Here's a tip for determining which category to put each goal into.  If you have a very clear vision about the outcome of the goal, then you can work on it now.  For each goal that you do not have absolute clarity on, put it aside.
  • Based on your research and consideration of the aforementioned items, put a plan into place to accomplish the goal and stick to it!  Don't give up!  And no matter what, be faithful and let no one else rain on your parade!
If you do these things then you are off to a good start towards changing your life for the better!  You should always ask yourself, "What would I do if I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I couldn't fail?"  Then help yourself to believe that you won't fail by telling yourself that, and then run like the wind to your finish line!  God will keep you and take care of you the entire way!

Welcome!!

Hello and welcome to this blog!  My name is Kaye Thompson and I am a small business owner who has a passion for writing and a strong desire to help others succeed!  What I hope to accomplish with this blog is to be able to share information that will help even the biggest under achiever to reach the specific goals that they have for their lives!  I hope to inspire others to action, so that together we can make a positive difference in the world, by becoming better people!  I will share about things that I am doing myself to improve my life and the lives of others.  I will also share about others who are making a difference (with their permission of course).

One of the first things that I learned from a very successful person is that if you want to achieve anything in life, you have to have a plan.  You cannot be a wondering generality, you must become a meaningful specific (as Zig Ziglar so eloquently put it).  Some of you are probably wondering, what does that mean?  Well, it means you really have to get on task to complete your goals!  Goals are just dreams if you let them just float around in your head forever.  You must take the dream out of your head to bring it into the physical realm.  A wondering generality is always "wishing for the time to be right to take action", or "hoping for something to happen that will just make their dream a reality".  I am here to tell you that these methods very seldom work.  In fact, for most people to become ultra successful, gurus in their field, they have to plan their work and work their plan!

Most truly successful people (those who have balance spiritual, familial, and work balance) do it because they write their dreams down (this helps to make the dream a goal), and then they plan a strategy to make it a reality.  They think about the materials they need, the time they need to dedicate to making it a reality, and who they need to have involved in order to reach the goal.  Successful people make a blue print for every endeavor they under take.  Having a blue print to follow allows the person to know what the finished product should be, and helps to guide the work towards it.  If plans for the finished product need to be changed, they are changed on the blue print and not when the product is finished!

So if you have a big dream in your heart, one that will not go away, then chances are you should be pursuing it!  But you probably, won't get anywhere without a blue print!  If you turn your dream into a goal, and not give up on yourself, the chances of you realizing the goal are maximized tremendously!  So start today, and make a blue print for your dream.  What or who is stopping you?  What do you really have to lose?  Why not start now?  There is no better time than this moment!  If you can conceive it, you can do it!
